The Age Factor

Greetings!!! The wait is over and I’m back with an amazing Non fiction post that will help you change your life for the better!

Apologies and Thanks! Let’s get on.

I’ve been wondering what do I write about to make it new, fresh and worth reading. An incident with my brother helped me frame this post.

Age Factor:

What is Age Factor? How is it important in our lives? Why do we need to understand it?

Okay. Let me help you get answers for these questions by the end of this article. We all want to succeed in our own lives.

No matter who, all the human beings in this world wants to succeed. The definition of success might differ with each person but at the end it is their perception of success which they wish to achieve.

One might think success is to get a good job with a good salary package whereas the other might think starting your own business to make billions is a success. One might think living a  rich life is success whereas the other might think helping poor with all their wealth is success. So, as far as this post is concerned, let’s not dwell on what is success but instead let’s try to relate this concept with the most amazing Age Factor.

Let me not waste any of your time and get ahead with the conversation I had with my brother. (My brother quit his high paying job to start his own venture at a very young age and is running his business now)

I was lost in thoughts while traveling with my brother in his car. We were En route to the new outlet my brother had just opened at navalur, OMR chennai. The song disturbed my thoughts and so I switched it off. I remained silent and my brother interrupted.

“What is it that you’re thinking of?”

“Huh? Nah. Just about life. About people. About success.” I replied, still thinking of the same.

Success is over rated bro. Trust me, almost all succeed in life. At some point or the other” he replied, taking a right turn.

“All succeed? So, if all succeed, why do people try hard and run behind success?” I asked.

“That’s the interesting thing. Listen carefully” he said, stopping the car at the OMR traffic signal.

Taking his hands off steering, he looked at me and let out a breath.

Do you think our parents are successful?” He asked.

“Umm yeah. They are.” I replied, more eager to know what he tried to convey.

“So are all the other parents. Don’t you think? They educate their children and they find the right partner for them. Some have two wheelers and some have cars. They give their children the needs of life and that’s what is important. They improve their lifestyle gradually. Just don’t compare one’s life with other and think clearly. Don’t you think they are successful?” He asked, again.

“Yes. Thinking of it, all seem to be successful as they grow” I answered still trying to figure out what was missing in my answer.

“But then why do people race? Why do they work so hard? Why are they so busy running behind success always?” He asked, as our car raced among the hundreds trying to find its way to the front.

The racing cars after the display of green traffic signal seemed so much like people in life. Just like how the cars in Chennai raced, the people in chennai are also too busy racing in life. Where are people running towards? Why are they running so hard?. My brother’s next words were the answer for my questions.

That’s where the Age factor comes into picture brother!” He grinned.

“Age factor?” I asked.

Read it with more attention because the following words are too deep and are of more importance than any other words of this post.

Age Factor plays a very important role in everyone’s life. Everyone is going to improve eventually but what matters is who reaches there first. Who makes use of the time soon? That matters. Mark Zuckerberg is appreciated inspite of hundreds of other billionaires because he is young and he is a billionaire. Virat kohli is appreciated because he is young and is proving big. Neymar is appreciated because he is too young but is already being compared with legends like CR7 and messi. Whatever profession you name it, people work hard to attain things soon. To reach their dream sooner. I started this early according to many people but I feel am already late. Everyone are going to reach at some place sooner or later but what is going to matter is WHEN. Buying a car at 40 is normal but buying your own car at 20, well that’s an achievement. Buying or building a house at 50 is normal, owning a house at 25, well that’s an achievement. Becoming a surgeon at 25+ years is normal, starting a company after 30 is normal, getting six figure salary package after 4-5 years of  experience is normal but becoming a surgeon at the age of 7 is extraordinary (An Indian boy named Akrit Jaswal ), Starting a business by dropping out is different (Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, etc..), getting a six figure salary package right after college is great. These things, that differentiate normal people from you is the Age Factor. The youngest have the fair advantage here and you’re young. It is never too late to start. Each day you’re one day closer to death and you’re one day short of what you had yesterday. So you’ve gotta use everyday of yours. You’ve got dreams and you need to start sooner to work on it and try things out. You wait for the right time to come and the world will push you aside and keep moving. Age is a virtue brother and you will realize it only once it’s lost. If you’re already a grown up and if you’re old, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re willing to start. This is where the Age factor turns into Time Factor. The old ones who starts early after realizing this joins the group as well. Make sure you live everyday as such that you won’t regret it later.  “

I nodded, my mind lost in those words. It was true. How important role had Age to play in this life?

We all grow old as each day passes and meanwhile we think and plan for future but wait for the right time to come. Unfortunately it rarely comes and for many, it never does. We need to make haste while the sun shines. We need to make use of every single second we’ve got just because this isn’t coming back. Not again.

No matter what you do, you cannot live yesterday again. Never.

And today will become yesterday soon. Keep working and don’t lose track! For, everyday is important.

All the best for your future..
